5. AI and Automated Processing
LivePlant uses AI-assisted processing for certain features, including plant identification and plant disease diagnosis.
When you use these features, we may send relevant inputs, including plant photos and limited context such as plant name or optional location/weather context, to third-party AI processing services in order to generate the requested result. Currently, AI processing is performed by Google (Gemini) accessed through the OpenRouter API service.
We send these inputs only for the purpose of generating the requested identification or diagnosis result. Third-party AI processing is subject to the applicable data handling, security, and retention practices of those service providers and their terms and policies.
If you do not want a photo or related context to be processed by third-party AI services, do not use these AI-powered features.
If you continue through the in-app scan consent notice while using a signed-in account, eligible healthy plant-identification photos may also be stored by LivePlant and displayed to other users inside the in-app encyclopedia. Shared encyclopedia photos are removed when the contributing account is deleted.
If location access is enabled, your device location coordinates may be sent to reverse-geocoding and weather service providers to derive approximate location and weather context. Derived location or weather context may also be sent alongside the plant photo to improve the accuracy of region-specific identification results.
AI-generated results may not always be accurate, complete, or suitable for every situation.
6. Location Data
If you choose to allow location access, the app may use your location to:
- retrieve local weather conditions;
- personalize plant care recommendations;
- improve region-specific plant information.
To provide these features, we may send your device location coordinates to third-party reverse-geocoding and weather service providers in order to derive approximate location details and local weather conditions.
Location access is optional, and the app can still function without it.
You can revoke location permission at any time through your device settings.
7. Push Notifications
If you enable push notifications, we may use notification-related information to:
- send plant care reminders;
- manage reminder delivery;
- associate reminders with your app account on your device.
You can disable push notifications in your device settings at any time.
